vMix live stream buffering
vMix live stream buffering

If you are using vMix to create live streams sent to Videolinq read this article!

Updated over a week ago

Customers complained about seeing buffering when using vMix as a media encoder for live streams (standalone software or vMix hardware systems). When using vMix as a standalone on a Windows computer, confirm you comply with the minimum system requirements. Buffering can be visible when vMix sends RTMP to Videolinq using FFMPEG at a rate of 3 MBps or higher. To fix this problem follow these steps:

Step 1:

Download the Adobe Flash Media Encoder (FMLE) and install it on your Windows workstation.

Step 2:

Launch vMix and (1) click on the Stream settings (2) Drop down, select FMLE, and save the settings. In most cases, this will fix the buffering problem. You can fine-tune the stream by adjusting values as explained in Step 3.

Step 3:

(Optional) Click on the stream profile configuration to adjust manually the encoder values. For further details refer to the vMix guide.

Do you still see buffering after making the change? notify customer service and we will help you configure your stream to work with Videolinq.
