TriCaster live stream buffering

If you are using Newtek Tricaster to create live streams sent to Videolinq read this article!

Updated over a week ago

We have received complaints from customers using TriCaster systems to send live streams to Videolinq. The problem is visible when TriCaster sends RTMP to Videolinq. TriCaster stream profiles use variable bitrate (VBR) and not constant bitrate (CBR) as the video source. Sending VBR video to Videolinq results in buffering. Videolinq requires CBR video for transcoding multi-bitrate streams, and for inserting captions into the video.

If you are using TriCaster as an RTMP video source for your Videolinq channel, notify customer service and we will help you configure your stream to work with Videolinq.
