This workflow explains how to send live-video from a RTMP encoder to a channel, and add real-time closed captioning created by a stenograph operator to a live stream.
Step 1:
Create a new channel or use one created before. Select the RTMP encoder video source option and enable it.
Step 2:
Click on the CC tab under the preview player, select the 3rd option, copy the credentials, and share them with your captions operator.
IMPORTANT: Send the RTMP video source first to Videolinq, before sending the closed captioning data. Videolinq needs a video source, and the channel must be active (push Go Live), before closed captioning data can be inserted to the stream.
Step 3:
Click on the "Encoder" tab and copy the RTMP path and stream key.
Step 4:
For this demonstration we used the OBS Studio software. Read this article to learn how to configure OBS. Copy the RTMP path and stream key to the proper window.
Step 5:
Send live video to Videolinq and press "Go Live".
Step 6:
Confirm you see live video with closed captioning in the preview player, before starting the destinations.
Step 7:
To stop the stream go in reverse order: stop the destination(s), tell the captions operator to stop sending data to Videolinq, and stop the RTMP encoder. This will stop the channel.
