Can I point to my Facebook live stream?
Can I point to my Facebook live stream?
Updated over 4 years ago

Many customers want to re-stream their own broadcast from Facebook, or other broadcasts they see on Facebook. They try to create a Videolinq source with the RTMP path and stream key they find on Facebook. This will not work because Facebook blocks attempts to pull live streams from live streams broadcasted on Facebook, unless the stream is distributed via the Facebook embed player.

Facebook is a free community that support live streaming. They cover cost and make money from advertising posted on pages where the live stream is displayed. Facebook does not allow pulling these live streams to other locations.

To display your own Facebook live stream inside Facebook pages and groups follow the steps explained in this article or use the Facebook crossposting workflow.

The answer to one of the most popular question on our FAQ list - "can I pull a live stream from Facebook" is no. You can not pull live streams from Facebook.

Use Videolinq to distribute live streams to multiple destination by creating 1 destination for each output you plan to use. To prevent copyright claims and restrictions imposed by social media platforms on your channel and profile only use content you own or have permission to broadcast.

At Videolinq we take copyright laws very seriously. Accounts that are found in violation of the Videolinq AUP will be terminated.
