Introduction
Live streaming on Instagram is an excellent way to connect with your audience in a dynamic and interactive format, allowing you to engage directly and authentically in real time. It provides a unique opportunity to reach followers instantly as they receive notifications and can join, comment, and react during the broadcast. This level of engagement helps build community, boosts visibility, and creates a personal connection with viewers. With creative tools like filters, Q&A features, and guest invites, Instagram Live offers versatile ways to showcase your brand, share updates, or host discussions, making it an impactful real-time interaction and relationship-building platform.
We recommend streaming to Instagram using the generic RTMP destination.

Instagram Tips
While most social media destinations (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) allows live streaming up to 8 hours, the maximum duration for an Instagram livestream is one hour.
After the livestream has ended, your audience will be able to rewatch it for up to 24 hours in your Instagram Stories. One way to save your livestream permanently on your account is by sending it to IGTV. Once it’s on IGTV, it will become available on your channel until you decide to delete it.
Since Instagram live streams are designed for mobile, we recommend to setup your stream format to portrait display. Your aspect ratio for Instagram Stories video should be 4:5 or 9:16. Your resolution for portrait videos should be 600 x 750 minimum and 1080 x 1350 maximum. Another option is to follow the recommendation in the tutorial video and publish a 16:9 aspect ratio video with a header and footer.
